Hands-on craft, modern making technology, and great company — there's always something going on at the Shed.
Our members bring a wide range of skills and enthusiasm. Here's a taste of what you'll find when you visit.
From traditional hand tools to power tools, woodworking is at the heart of the Shed. Make, restore and create in wood at your own pace.
Our CNC router opens up precision cutting, engraving and profiling in wood, MDF and soft materials — bringing digital designs to life.
Our laser cutter handles intricate cuts and detailed engraving on wood, acrylic, leather and more — ideal for decorative and personalised work.
With our FDM 3D printers, members can turn digital models into real, functional objects — from replacement parts to original designs.
Light fabrication and metalwork for those who enjoy shaping, joining and finishing metal components for practical and creative projects.
For those who enjoy tinkering with circuits — from repairing household electronics to building custom Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects.
One of the great joys of the Shed is the free flow of knowledge between members. Our members range from retired engineers and IT professionals to complete beginners — and everyone teaches everyone.
We run informal skills sessions where experienced members demonstrate techniques, and members are always happy to lend a hand on each other's projects. If you have a skill to share, we'd love to have you along.
Get in TouchYou don't need to know one end of a chisel from the other to join the Shed. Many of our members arrived never having used a power tool — and are now confidently running the CNC machine or designing parts for 3D printing.
The Shed is also a social space. The kettle is always on, and for many members the highlight of the session is the coffee break chat as much as the making.
